Updates!

Eight months. That's how long it's been since I last posted on my blog. Life, as you can imagine, has been keeping me busy. I've been abroad, I've been working, I've dealt with lost loved ones, and I've been writing my book.

That's right, I was making progress on War of Destiny, the final book in The Rising Saga during my hiatus from posting. I wasn't just holed up in some cave waiting for my hibernation to end. Progress was slow going at times, but over the past four or five months things really picked up. I found a way of working that has suited me better than anything I've done before, and I was able to motivate myself through roughly 45k words to reach the finishing line.

Draft one was completed and sent out to a friend of mine (and fellow author) for proofreading, beta reading, and editing all in one. If he ever decides he wants to start charging for his services then I'll be sure to plug his socials because the man is a machine.

That version of the story is now back in my hands, ready for me to start the editing process in earnest. Combing through my work, reflecting on the editing & story suggestions, and making sure that the story is in as pristine condition as possible will be my sole focus over the next month and a half. This is the end of my time in the Rive and I want to do it justice.

After that is when the fun begins. I'll start reaching out to my usual cover artists and formatting experts to make sure that the final product is ready to go before the deadline. So, what is that deadline? Well, I'd always planned on this final book being ready for Autumn 2022 and if all goes to plan in the editing stage then we should be able to make that target. In the worst-case scenario it will be out in Winter, should we run into any delays with the cover and formatting. The bottom line is, that this book WILL be out in time for the holiday season.

I can't wait for you to experience the conclusion to Lyvanne, Turiel, and Jocelyn's stories.

But don't worry if you're yet to read books 1 & 2. I will be making them free for digital download on Kindle in the lead-up to book 3's publication. More on that in the future when dates are finalized.

For now, I just wanted to reach out and give you a long overdue update. The end is in sight for The Rising Saga, but my journey in writing is only just beginning. What comes next, well I won't be talking about it in any detail for a long time, but I can say that it is more epic in scope and story than anything I've tried before.
